Abstract
The San Bernardino National Forest was selected for a study of the impact of oxidant air pollutants because of its proximity to the heavily populated south coast basin of California and because evidence of encroachment of pollutants into the area. The report for Task C is intended to identify and describe in considerable detail two areas in the San Bernardino Forest selected to represent a reasonable distribution of major forest species and to represent areas to a gradient of pollutants during the past two decades.
