Abstract | The Coastal America initiative established a partnership for action among the four Federal agencies having primary responsibility for the management, regulation, and stewardship of coastal living resources: the Department of the Army, the Department of the Interior, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The main purpose of the Coastal America initiative is to protect, preserve, and restore the Nations coastal ecosystem - through existing Federal capabilities and authorities and to facilitate collaboration and cooperation in the stewardship of coastal living resources by working in partnership with other Federal programs and integrating Federal actions with state, local, and non-governmental efforts. On an annual basis the Coastal America office submits a progress report to the Principals which identifies management action undertaken and evaluates the effectiveness of program activities. This resource is the report for the year 1992. This document s main section analyzes the program according to its regional objectives. |
