Abstract
A technical seminar on 'Treatment of Household Wastes, Septage and Septic Tank Effluent', was held at the Lenox Institute of Water Technology (LIWT), on November 8, 1999, for the LIWT gaduate program (Master of Engineering in Water Technology). Topics included household sewage flows, soil and appraisal, sewer, septic tanks, subsurface disposal, and alternative systems. Technical information on septage characteristics, sepatage treatment, and septic effluent treatment was provided by the US Environmental Protection Agency, Washington DC, and the Lenox Institute of Water Technology, Lenox, Mass.
