Abstract |
To determine the durability test requirements for motorcycles, it is necessary to know their useful life mileage. The analysis defines useful life as the mean (average) mileage a motorcycle can be expected to accumulate during its lifetime. The discussion presents the analysis technique, the detailed calculations, and a description of the data and associated assumptions. The useful life mileage is 12000km for motorcycles with engine displacements between 49 and 170 cubic centimeters, and 3000km for motorcycles with displacements of 170 cubic centimeter or greater. |
