Abstract

Illustrations of electron micrographs showing morphology, electron diffraction patterns, energy dispersive X-ray spectra, and X-ray diffraction patterns of selected silicates and their asbestiform varieties are presented as an aid in their identification. A method for preparing rock quarry specimens for the quantification of chrysotile asbestos is described.
