Abstract
Cost information on erosion and sediment control measures was developed for over 25 methods in current widespread use in both the humid Eastern and arid Western United States. Most of the data presented were developed for the Walnut Creek Basin in California and the Occoquan Creek Basin in Virginia, but the detailed cost estimates presented provide a basis for estimating local costs elsewhere for similar control methods using three principal cost elements: labor, equipment and materials. Soil losses were estimated by using the improved universal soil loss equation. (Modified author abstract)
