This is the fourth OSV Bold Annual Report. It highlights the ships 2009 scientific survey accomplishments, capabilities, and the unique role that this vessel plays in supporting EPAs monitoring and assessment programs. In 2009, the OSV Bold supported scientific surveys in a variety of geographic areas, including the Atlantic Coast, the Gulf of Mexico, the Florida Keys, and the Caribbean Sea. The survey missions included monitoring ocean dredged material disposal sites, coastal eutrophication and toxicity assessments, monitoring ocean outfalls, and assessments of critical coral reef habitats. During this period, the OSV Bold completed 28 oceanographic surveys, involving hundreds of sampling locations, while spending 238 days at sea.
