Abstract
The F-Area Burning/Rubble Pits (FBRP)(231-F, 231-1F, and 231-2F) source unit is listed as a Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) 3004(u) Solid Waste Management Unit/Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) unit in Appendix C of the Federal Facility Agreement (FFA) for the Savannah River Site. This decision document presents the selected remedial alternative for the FBRP located at the SRS in Aiken, South Carolina. The preferred alternative for the FBRP source operable unit is Institutional Controls which will preclude residential use of this land. Implementation of the institutional Controls alternative requires both near-term and long-term actions which will be protective of human health and the environment.
