Abstract |
The D-Area burning/Rubble Pits (DBRP)(431-D and 431-1D) Waste Unit is listed as a Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) 3004(u) Solid Waste Management Unit/Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) unit in Appendix C of the Federal Facility Agreement (FFA) for the Savannah River Site (SRS). This decision document presents the selected remedial alternative for the DBRP located at the SRS in Aiken, South Carolina. The preferred alternative for the DBRP source operable unit soils is Institutional Controls which will restrict this land to future industrial use. Addtional groundwater monitoring, as discussed in Section IX of the ROD, will also be conducted. |
