Abstract
Site 1, Northwest Disposal Area, is a 5-acre parcel located along the northwestern facility boundary of Naval Air Station (NAS) Whiting Field, Milton, Florida. This decision document presents the selected remedial action (RA) for Site 1 at NAS Whiting Field. The purpose of the RA at Site 1 is to implement land-use controls (LUCs) to minimize future predicted risks. The LUCs will establish control for land use at the site to nonresidential use as specified in the LUCIP in Apendix B. NAS Whiting Field, on behalf of the Department of the Navy, will agree to implement periodic basewide site inspections and agency notification procedures designed to ensure the maintenance by NAS Whiting Field personel of any site-specific LUCs deemed necessary for future protection of human health and the environment.
