Abstract | In 1974 the Region implemented a Northern Great Plains Resources Program effort to address regionwide energy developmental activities and to focus priority attention on the environmental impacts from coal and oil shale activities. This Accomplishment Plan is a continuation of the 1974 and 1975 Accomplishment Plans. Development of other energy sources may have significant environmental impacts. These include oil and gas, tight gas, geothermal, and hydroelectricity. Consistent with Region VIII's prevention posture, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has formulated a regional energy-environmental program. |
