Abstract
In accordance with API's policy of providing the federal government with copies of contractor reports on API-sponsored research designed to determine whether any chemical substance or mixture manufactured; processed or distributed by API member companies may cause risk of injury to health or the environment, I am enclosing a copy of a draft report by Nancy G. Maynard on a study performed by the Bermuda Biological Station for Research on effects of petroleum residues (pelagic tar) on intertidal organisms of Bermuda. We have not yet had an opportunity to conduct a detailed review or evaluation of the report; therefore, any conclusion and opinions contained in it should be considered as preliminary views of the researcher and not necessarily those of the API or its member companies.
