| Abstract |
This is the second in a series of reports on the progress achieved in the research program on Commercial Hexane (CH) Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics being conducted at RTI. This research is being conducted to fulfill the requirements of the final test rule on CH issued by the EPA. During the period since the initiation of this project studies have been conducted on the design, development and validation of the specific devices and experimental approaches to be used for the studies included in this research program. In vivo pilot absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion (ADME) studies have been successfully completed at inhalation exposure concentrations of 900 and 9000 ppm. The results of these studies support initiation of the definitive in vivo ADME studies. |
