Abstract
The revised standards for the storage/treatment of hazardous waste in tank systems that were promulgated on July 14, 1986 (51 FR 25422) require owners/operators to use the services of professionally-trained and, in many cases, independent registered personnel, to perform various tasks related to tank system design and installation. To assist owners and operators in obtaining the needed services, EPA has compiled lists of individuals and companies who claim to provide one or more of the following services: (1) assessment of existing tank system integrity by an independent, qualified, registered professional engineer; (2) assessment of new tank system design by an independent, qualified, registered professional engineer; (3) determination of corrosion potential by an independent corrosion expert; and (4) inspection of installation of new tank systems by an independent, qualified installation inspector or an independent, qualified, registered professional engineer.
