The water quality model PIONEER-I is a steady-state program that simulates the behavior of the following water quality parameters: Total nitrogen; Total dissolved solids; Zinc; Dissolved oxygen; Carbonaceous biochemical oxygen demand; Fecal coliform bacteria; Phosphorus; Ammonia; Nitrite; Nitrate; Chlorophyll a. The model was set up on the entire length of the South Platte River from Eleven Mile Canyon Reservoir to its confluence with the North Platte River.
