Abstract
The report discusses miscibility, solubility, viscosity, and density data for the refrigerant hydrofluorocarbon (HFC)-236ea (or R-236ea) and four lubricants supplied by Exxon Corporation. The miscibility tests were performed in a test facility consisting of a series of miniature test cells submerged in a constant temperature bath, precisely controlled over a range of -50 to 90 C. Critical solution temperatures obtained from the miscibility data are presented for each refrigerant/lubricant combination. Data for the R-236ea in each of the test lubricants have been collected for refrigerant concentrations of 10-90%. The raw data have been presented, and the results have been summarized. Solubility, viscosity, and density data were also obtained for R-236ea mixed with the same four oils for a refrigerant concentration range of 0-40 wt% refrigerant over a temperature range of 30-100 C.
