Abstract
The system is based on use of an organic-based working fluid with reciprocating expander. The working fluid used is Fluorinol-85, a mixture of 85 mole percent trifluorinol and 15 mole percent water. The detailed, optimized design of the system including packaging of the complete system in the reference car, the 1972 Ford Galaxie is described. The results of experimental development in several critical areas are also presented. The system is designed to provide performance approximately equivalent to use of a 351 cubic inch displacement internal combustion engine in the reference car. (Author)
