| Abstract |
This decision document presents the selected remedial interim action for the Old Radioactive Waste Burial Ground (ORWBG) located at the SRS in Aiken, South Carolina. The selected interim action for the ORWBG, Placement of a Soil Cover, consists of placement of a low-permeability soil cover (minimum thickness 2 feet) on top of the existing grade. Topsoil (vegetative soil layer - minimum thickness of 3 inches) would be added and the area compacted and seeded to prevent erosion. This is an interim RCRA/CERCLA action and in no way constitutes a final action for the ORWBG. |
