This report reviews the numerous solidification techniques and related matrix materials that are presently being offered or proposed for incorporating the radionuclides into an immobile material. Both high- and low-level waste solidification processes are covered. Key ffatures of the equipment used in individual solidification processes are discribed. At present the high-level waste solidification methods are being developed by the Government, while the low-level waste solidification methods are being developed commercially. |
