Abstract
The report summarizes the ideas and information developed in a series of workshops held in July, 1992 to address four environmental monitoring issues. The issues addressed were: Adoption of performance based methods; Predicting the environmental impact of oily materials; Characterizing heterogeneous wastes; Characterizing mixed wastes. The workshops served as a means of soliciting input on how EPA can best address these issues from all sectors of the monitoring community (e.g., state and regional regulatory officials, industry, commercial laboratories, other federal agencies).
