Abstract
The Information Collection Rule (ICR), found in Subpart M to 40 CFR Part 141 - National Primary Drinking Water Regulations, requires each public water system (PWS) that meets certain applicability criteria to collect specified information for the limited period of time. Therefore, the purpose of the manual is to provide detailed requirements and guidance for affected PWSs to accomplish the following in accordance with the ICR: Develop an Initial Sampling Plan and utilize it to develop Monthly Sampling Plans and generate Final Design data; Utilize Monthly Sampling Plans and report sto collect appropriate samples and supporting information; Utilize suitable sampling techniques (and containers) to collect and ship representative samples to EPA-approved laboratories for analyses; Report appropriate data electronically to EA at required intervals.
