| Abstract |
EPA established the Public Water System Supervision (PWSS) under the authority of the 1974 Safe Drinking Water Act (SWDA). A 1996 SWDA Amendment requires that states operating their own PWSS programs to report on any public water system violations. The EPA issues an annual summary of these reports; this document represents the FY96 report. Sections of the document include a public water system inventory and community water systems compliance. |
