This document provides detailed information for States on implementing the capacity development provisions of the SDWA 1996 Amendments. Individual sections discuss what water system capacity is, how new drinking water systems can meet these requirements, how to prepare capacity development strategies and how to assess system capacity. An extensive appendix provides States to assess system capacity. An extensive tools that can be used to meet the capacity development provisions of the SDWA.
