Abstract
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agencys FY 2008 Performance and Accountability Report (PAR) describes the Agencys many accomplishments and challenges in both program performance and overall management. Specifically, the Performance and Accountability Report presents results in meeting the 219 performance measures established in the FY 2008 Annual Performance Plan and Budget and explains advances made toward the long-term goals set forward in the 2006-2011 Strategic Plan. The report also shares ideas for future directions and offers opportunities for comments and questions. Readers will learn how EPA has made a difference and where the Agency has met and overcome obstacles. This document satisfies reporting requirements of the following statutes: Federal Managers Financial Integrity Act of 1982 (FMFIA); Inspector General Act Amendments of 1988; Chief Financial Officers Act of 1990; Government Performance and Results Act of 1993 (GPRA); Government Management Reform Act of 1994; Federal Financial Management Improvement Act of 1996 (FFMIA); Reports Consolidation Act of 2000; Improper Payments Information Act of 2002.
