Abstract
The report specifically addresses the use of Sequencing Batch Reactors (SBRs) for nitrification and nutrient removal. Although limited use of SBRs began in the 1960s, it was not until the early 1980s that the technology became more widely accepted and used. After early acceptance and use, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (ESEPA) expressed increased interest in this technology especially in the comparative costs and performance.
