| Contents Notes | GPCP is a component of WCRP Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment (GEWEX). Established 1986 to provide monthly mean precipitation data, it merges infrared and microwave satellite estimates of precipitation with rain gauge data from more than 30,000 stations. All its member countries contributed to this analyses. This disc was produced by the National Climate Data Center, with support provided by NOAA. It contains 19 Version 1A precipitation products plus validation data and documentation. Documentation and maps of monthly 'satellite+gauge' analyses can be viewed using the Adobe Acrobat reader. All other analyses and data ... must be accessed via user written programs. |
