Abstract
A detailed study is given in the report of the interrelationships among wastewater discharges, water supply withdrawals, freshwater inflow, and water quality in the Potomac Estuary was undertaken in November 1969. The study has two purposes: (1) To refind the allowable oxygen demanding and nutrient loadings previously established for Zones I, II, and III of the upper Potomac Estuary; and (2) to determine the feasibility of using the estuary as a municipal water supply source.
