Abstract
The results described in this year's Highlights report represent but a few of the outputs supported by the Office of Research and Development in 1979. The Program ranges from direct support to EPA's regulatory functions, such as the developing of short-term tests for evaluating the toxicity of various substances and developing a classification method for hazardous wastes, to the publication of a new series of research documents to aid the public in learning about such research activities. This report covers studies on acid rain, the Chesapeake Bay, Energy (synthetic and conventional), radiation, clean air monitoring as well as municipal and industrial waste water.
