Abstract
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, through the Environmental Verification Program, is working to accelerate the acceptance and use of innovative technologies that improve the way United States manages its environmental problems. The demonstration was conducted at two geologically and climatologically sites. It is designed to evaluate the capabilities of each transportable system and was coordinated by Sandia National Laboratories. It offered adequate analytical and operational data with which to evaluate the performance of the Voyager gas chromatograph. The results suggest that the sample handling methodology used in this demonstration may have adversely affected instrument precision and accuracy. The Voyager gas chromatograph can provide useful, cost-effective data for environmental site characterization and routine monitoring.
