Abstract
The use of sewage waste stabilization ponds (also called oxidation ponds or waste stabilization lagoons) for treating sewage wastes of communities has increased considerably. The main objectives of the report is to make available to more sanitarians a knowledge of (1) some of the principles of design, operation and maintenance; and (2) the public health implications of these ponds.
