Abstract |
The Economic Impact Analysis (EIA) documents the assessment of the economic impacts of the final guidelines and standards applying specifically to the pesticide manufacturing industry. The EIA builds on the analysis of impacts of the proposed effluent guidelines for the industry, and incorporates changes resulting from public comments and EPA internal review. The EIA estimates the probable economic effect of compliance costs on facilities in terms of facility closures, product line closures, profitability impacts, ability to incur debt, and compliance costs as a percentage of facility revenues. Projected firm-level impacts, local community impacts, international trade effects, and the effect on new pesticide manufacturing facilities are also presented. A Regulatory Flexibility Analysis detailing the small business impacts is also included in the EIA for this industry. |
