Abstract
The paper discusses quality assurance (QA) reviews of papers and reports, and discusses how they differ from peer reviews. Papers and reports written by EPA personnel or recipients of financial aid from EPA are reviewed by EPA QA staff members. These papers and reports are also subjected to peer reviews that check for validity of conclusions and general agreement with the body of technical knowledge in the subject area. QA reviews differ from peer reviews in that the former focus on: Consistency; Correctness; Coherence; Clarity; Conformance; and Concordance.
