Abstract
The 1994 Chesapeake Bay Oyster Management Plan is a continuing effort to fulfill the Living Resources Commitment of the 1987 Chesapeake Bay Agreement. The 1994 Plan is a revision of the original Chesapeake Bay Oyster Management Plan that was developed and adopted in 1989. The participants agree to work together to implement, by the dates set forth in the Plan, the management actions recommended to address: (1) disease mortality; (2) repletion efforts; (3) habitat restoration and water quality improvement; (4) increased oyster production; and (5) collection of management quality data. The State of Maryland further commits to special management efforts for oyster recovery areas.
