Abstract |
The Air Pollutants Exposure model (APEX) is part of EPA's overall Total Risk Integrated Methodology (TRIM) model framework (EPA, 1999). TRIM is a time series modeling system with multimedia capabilities for assessing human health and ecological risks from hazardous and criteria air pollutants; it has been developed to support evaluations with a scientifically sound, flexible, and user-friendly methodology. The TRIM design includes three modules: (1) Environmental Fate, Transport, and Ecological Exposure module (TRIM.FaTE); (2) Human Inhalation-Dietary-Dermal Exposure module (TRIM.Expo); and (3) Risk Characterization module (TRIM.Risk). |
