Abstract |
The paper describes how, rather than building 'bridges' across centuries, quality assurance (QA) personnel have the opportunity to build bridges across technical disciplines, between public and private organizations, and between different QA groups. As reviewers and auditors of all technical work that is planned, done, and reported within an organization, the QA staff are in a good position within an organization to know the expertise and capabilities of each of the organization's personnel. The QA staff in an organization know the facilities and equipment. This provides QA personnel with the unique opportunity to encourage collaboration both within and between organizations. This may be one of the most useful functions that QA staff within an organization can perform. |
