Abstract | The report deals with the acquisition and use of scientific information necessary to establish U.S. environmental regulatory policies. Involved are decision making, research management, monitoring, and manpower utilization and staffing. Of particular concern are the costs of pollution abatement activities, long term effects on environmental regulations on the energy crisis, effect of emission control standards on the cost and performance of automobiles, and the benefits and hazards to humans of pesticides, along with the effects of banning certain chemicals. |
