Abstract
At the time of the original optimization evaluation, the P&T system was an interim remedy. The ROD for the final remedy was signed in September 2005, and established a modified version of the P&T system as the final remedy. Because the P&T system has been operating for several years, the O&F date for the final remedy was established for March 15, 2002, which pre-dates the final ROD. The maor change to the P&T system associated with the final remedy is the addition of 6 new extraction wells, increasing the total number of extraction points from 5 to 11. The site team has also recently discontinued use of the UV/oxidation system to determine the effectiveness of the treatment plant in treating site contaminants. Results of the testing suggest that the treatment plant will continue to operate without the UV/oxidation system.
