Abstract
Cost cases developed include five processes, lime, limestone, mag-ox, double alkali, and Wellman-Lord; five plant sizes from 25-1000 MW; three SO2 control levels, current, 90% efficiency, 0.5 lbs SO2/million Btu; three particulate levels, current (43 ng/j), 22 ng/j, and 13 ng/j; and coals of varying sulfur, heating value, and ash content. Averaging times, redundancy, sludge disposal, and energy penalties are also studied. (Portions of this document are not fully legible)
