Abstract
This report addresses the economics of wastewater treatment alternatives as a guide for minimizing the costs of meeting water pollution control requirements. Initially, operating and investment costs are presented for conventional wastewater treatment systems employed by the electroplating industry. These systems are then compared with alternative technologies that may offer cost savings. Finally, modifications capable of reducing raw material use and pollution costs are described.
