| Abstract |
A new quadriflagellate green alga is described from temperate coastal waters. It occurs primarily as four-celled colonies, and its ultrastructure and general morphology place it in the Dunalliellaceae (order Volvocales, class Chlorophyceae). Oltmannsiella virida grows well in salinities from 10 ppt. to full-strength coastal water, and at temperatures from 15-25C. |
