Abstract
This chapter describes an objective procedure for the use of a plant and substrate model to indicate habitat suitability for a small mammal; Ords kangaroo rat (Dipodomys ordii), a heteromyid rodent from the western United States. The purpose of this chapter is to illustrate the ORD Evaluation Guidelines for Ecological Indicators as applied to an indicator (i.e., model) no habitat suitability for a small mammal species.
