Abstract
This document consists of scientific information that EPA gathered and considered as it developed its proposed rule for numeric nutrient criteria for Class I and III surface freshwaters in the State of Florida. Specifically, this document and the appendices consist of chemical, physical, and biological data, meta-data, methods and analyses considered in developing numeric nutrient criteria for specific inland surface waters in Florida (i.e., lakes, streams, springs, and canals). EPA used this information to develop scientifically-defensible proposed numeric nutrient criteria to protect designated uses in these waters. The designated uses for these waters are, Recreation, Propagation and Maintenance of a Healthy, Well-Balanced Population of Fish and Wildlife (F.A.C. 62-302.400). Portions of the information contained in this document were also considered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection as part of its process to develop numeric nutrient water quality criteria under state law.
