Abstract
Four workshops are reported: toxic substances in atmospheric deposition, screening chemicals for inadvertent modification of the stratosphere, the impact of chemicals on the radiative transfer imbalance, and the impact of anthropogenic chemicals on precipitation processes. These workshops were convened as part of an effort to assess the impact of toxic chemicals on the abiotic environment (specifically, the atmosphere), to assess the feasibility of screening chemicals for these impacts, and whenever possible to develop a screening logic. Report contains an extensive literature survey and bibliography.
