Abstract
The report summarizes the water pollution problems of the United States water of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River and their tributaries. It identifies the causes of these problems or sources of pollution, discusses the improvements needed, and presents a program of recommended actions. The report is based on extensive field and office studies, initiated in 1964 and still continuing, by the Federal Water Pollution Control Administration's Rochester Program Office; and on information of the New York State Department of Health.
