Abstract
This atlas is a compilation of the observations and measurements of winds, waves, and weather elements made on ships plying the Great Lakes and is supplemented by data made from research vessels, buoys, aircraft, and satellites. The atlas is organized into two principal sections. In the first section, the areal variation of climatic elements is presented in map form by month or season. Ice cover, because of its uniqueness, is depicted every other week. In addition, wind and wave information is summarized by season in graphs for climatologically distinct areas of the Great Lakes. The second section shows, in graphical form, the monthly variation of climatic elements for each of the Great Lakes.
