| Abstract | After reviewing information from various sources that identified livestock feeding facilities as significant sources of water quality impairment, the Director of the Office of Wastewater Enforcement and Compliance (OWEC) formed an EPA/State Feedlot Workgroup in April 1992. The Workgroup's charge was to study issues related to the impact of feedlots on U.S. waters, and to develop strategies and guidance for reduction of feedlot pollution, utilizing tools available to the Agency under NPDES, Nonpoint Source, and Ground Water Protection Programs. |
