| Abstract |
The purpose of this report is to provide the methodology and reference information for federal guidelines and the designers of publicly owned wastewater treatment works in compliance with the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendment of 1972 (P.L. 92-500). To assist in obtaining maximum flexibility and economy in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of wastewater treatment works, while ensuring the required level of environmental compatibility, relevant considerations are presented. Municipal wastewater treatment works include treatment plants, pumping stations, separation structures, interceptors, force mains, certain collection systems, and outfalls. |
