Abstract
The degree of physiological effect of parathion is reflected by cholinesterase inhibition. The degree of exposure to parathion is reflected by the amount of urinary paranitrophenol excreted, and by the amount of parathion that can be removed from the patient's body by alcohol, even in spite of numerous washings with soap and water. A case study is presented in which blood cholinesterase activities, urinary paranitrophenol values, and measurement of parathion in skin washes were obtained following the administration of 2-PAM for treatment.
