| Abstract | The theory of ion chromatography as a technique for analyzing ionic substances is discussed. The application of ion chromatography for analyzing ambient air samples is specifically described, with emphasis on determining sulfate, nitrate, and ammonium ions in aerosols, and sulfur dioxide in the atmosphere. |
