Abstract
This decision document presents the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's (NJDEP's) selected remedial action for the ground water operable unit at the Shieldalloy Corporation Superfund site, also known as Shieldalloy Metallurgical Corporation (SMC), in Newfield, New Jersey. This ground water operable unit is the first operable unit for the site; all remaining contaminated environmental media will be addressed as one or more additional operable units. The selected remedy, Modified Ground Water Restoration, addresses the principal threat posed by ground water contamination through ground water extraction, treatment and discharge.
